In Stanford, Mayor David Martin gathered emergency management officials on Friday to prepare all departments for a tropical cyclone response.

“Our emergency management team is tracking this storm and preparing accordingly. They are in regular contact with the National Weather Service and state emergency management authorities. We are in contact with this storm. We will continue to closely monitor its potential impact, “said Mayor Martin.

Residents are advised to anticipate heavy rains, floods, strong winds, and power outages.

From Saturday night to Sunday night, dangerous marine conditions such as high tides and strong rip currents are expected in coastal waters.

Residents near flood-prone areas are advised to check and prepare for the following:

There is no debris in the rainwater pipes in your area,
The household underground pump is working fine,

Valuables that may be stored in basements where floods move higher in the dwelling, and
Avoid driving on flooded roads.

Bring in lawn furniture, outdoor decorations, hanging plants, trash cans
In the event of a power outage, charge your mobile phone / withdraw cash.
