Punta Gorda Motorcyclist in crisis after the crash on Monday evening

Punta Gorda motorcyclists are in crisis after a tow truck crash on Monday night.

A tow truck driven by a 57-year-old Cape Coral man was heading north in the left lane of US-41 in Punta Gorda at around 6:30 pm. A motorcycle driven by a 20-year-old Punta Gorda man was heading south in the right lane of US-41. The truck attempted a U-turn in front of an approaching motorcycle.

The front of the two-wheeled vehicle collided with the right side of the truck, and both stopped at the point of collision. Motorcyclists were taken to a local hospital in danger. The crash is under investigation.
