Rams’ Goff removes his thumb and Jets’ Gore hurts his chest

Jared Goff returned his dislocated right thumb to its original position and continued playing.

The Los Angeles Rams quarterback wants to keep him away from the finale of the regular season with Arizona.

“It’s okay now,” said Goff, who prevented Rams from losing 20-9 in Seattle on Sunday at 224 yards at 23 yards out of 42 yards. “It’s not terrible. See you tomorrow.”

Goff was injured when he put his thumb on the helmet in the third quarter, but he was able to put it in place and did not miss play.

LA also lost a running back in the third quarter due to an ankle injury from Darrell Henderson. Henderson, who was in a hurry 62 yards, stumbled from behind and was injured.

In East Rutherford, NJ, Frank Gore was forced to run towards another career milestone, on the sidelines of the New York Jets’ second victory.

The 37-year-old running back joined Emmitt Smith (18,355) and Walter Payton (16,726) in the Pro Football Hole of Famers, making him the third player to run 16,000 yards in NFL history. However, his 4-yard carry, which made him exactly 16,000 in the fourth quarter, was his last victory over Cleveland 23-16 on Sunday due to a chest injury.

Director Adam Gace didn’t immediately get the latest information about Gore, who finished with 14 carries at 48 yards. It’s unclear if Gore could be the last match of his NFL career at the season finale in New England next Sunday. Gore says he talks about playing another season with his family in the off-season.

Jets backed up aggressive lineman Josh Andrews, injuring his crotch in the game, and Browns linebackers Tae Davis and Shione Takitaki injured their ankles. None of them came back.

In other injuries around the league, Patrick Mahomes lost one of Sammy Watkins’ top targets, leaving a 17-14 victory in Atlanta in Kansas City with a calf injury and did not return. Chief linebacker Bennie Man also hurt the hamstring.

Philadelphia’s defensive harness Fletcher Cox and linebacker Shawn Bradley both left the Eagles match in Dallas with Stinger. Cowboys Safety Darian Thompson participates in the Concussion Protocol.

Other notable injuries:

— Houston guard Brent Kveil suffered a concussion, and left tackle Laremy Tansil injured his leg in the second quarter of the Texans’ 37-31 defeat to Cincinnati.

— Bengals cornerback William Jackson left with a concussion after hitting his teammate Jesse Bates in play.

— Denver wide receiver KJ Hamler suffered a concussion in the first quarter when Broncos lost to the Los Angeles Chargers 19-16.

— Chargers Safety Ray Shawn Jenkins injured his ankle and Offensive Tackle Brian Braga (foot) was injured in the first half and did not return. CB Casey Hayward (hamstring) didn’t play in the second half. Wide receiver Keenan Allen (hamstring) became inactive for the first time since 2016 after attempting to warm up. The Pro Bowl Wide Receiver made its debut in the second week of AFC with 100 receptions.

— Baltimore center Patrick Mekari injured his back when Ravens defeated the New York Giants 27-13.

— Carolina left a tackle Trent Scott did not return due to a shoulder injury at the beginning of the third quarter when the Panthers defeated Washington 20-13. Scott had already filled the injured starter Russell Okung, who was inactive.
