Request for school dress code changes throughout the First Coast

Jacksonville, Florida – Some families are again calling for major changes to the school district’s dress code and how it is enforced.

It came after a controversy at Bertram Trail High School last month. Several girls there said they were taken out of class and asked to change clothes.

One of the main concerns from parents is inequality, especially in the differences between boys and girls rules.

These parents say that the dress code rules in some districts are not only outdated, but actually do more harm than good.

A schoolgirl on the Bartram Trail in St. Johns County has blown up the handling of a school suspected of violating a dress code. The female student said she was taken out of class and sent to the dean’s office for change of clothes and suspension.

Currently, more than 4,700 signatures have been submitted to online petitions for changes in schools and districts.

However, this argument is not included in St. Johns County.

Tracy Sinan and her daughter Sloan have asked for a change in the dress code for a school in Duval County. She says this is unfair to girls.
