Rescue Northport Workers to Support Floods After Returning from Surfside Collapse Site

A group of highly trained first responders from southwest Florida after returning from where the surfside buildings collapsed It has been sent out again. This time, however, they will get closer to home.

Urban Search and Rescue Task Force 6 arrived in Northport and helped those affected by the floods there. After hurricane Elsa rained heavily in southwestern Florida, parts of North Port were stuck to cope with the surge in water. The task of Task Force 6 is to keep those people safe.

This was after the mansion collapsed on the surfside, and after betting on a living person for life.

Shane Sibert is one of the directors of Task Force 6... “Unfortunately, the surfside was definitely a bittersweet event for us. Not only the fact that we couldn’t do a live rescue, but also the fact that we were able to help close the family,” Sibert said. I have.

Now they are packing for their next mission. “The purpose of our mission is to be evacuees who are still stuck in the flood areas where we enter and assist in evacuation. We will only enter as a support team in Northport,” Sibert said. It was.

This devoted group of brave people lives their lives on the phone. The latest call is to help people handle the soaring water in Northport.

“It’s like what we’ve been doing for years in our wheelhouses, floods and storms,” says Sibert.

The team hates some broken hearts on their mission, but loves helping people.

“They want to work, they want to work. It’s good to be deployed like this task after a task, but I also have to be aware of their well-being,” says Sibert.

Of course, they are ready for the previous mission and can throw anything else, but some of their minds are still on the surfside.

“We are still … our thoughts and prayers are with them,” Sibert said.
