Organizers and neighbors in the neighborhood of Golden Gate Estate met each other after Wednesday The meeting was canceled on Tuesday Night because the number of people who appeared is very large.
Rezoning seems to be an important issue for residents of the Golden Gate Estate. That’s because if neighbors can prevent it, they will eventually stop the 300 apartments from going up.
Too many people appeared on Tuesday, so dozens of neighbors were locked out and reappeared on Wednesday.
The Golden Gate Estate Area Citizens’ Association held a conference. According to the group’s website, they work to protect real estate and the lifestyle it offers.
A big topic of discussion was the project proposed along 7th Avenue.Neighbors living along the street say they will be more organized prior to the public meeting
“Now they just want to go in and rezone it for a multi-family life, and it’s not what we bought, and it completely changes the property of real estate,” Golden Gate said. Tammy French of the Estate said.
Petitions are in circulation and have hundreds of signatures. All those who oppose seeing 300 apartments go up along their quiet streets.
There is still no word about the reschedule date of the public meeting that had to be postponed.
