Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick set COVID aside as Broadway fights the virus

A second shoe has fallen into the “Plaza Suite” on New York-Broadway.

The first Matthew Broderick tested positive for COVID-19, but a few days later his wife and co-star Sarah Jessica Parker tested herself.

Parker tested positive on Thursday and the show was cancelled. According to the producer, what will happen in future performances will be “announced as soon as possible”.

Despite Broderick’s absence on Tuesday, the show continued in Understudy, but producers have little choice as there are no stars playing three-act three-act couples in the hotel suite. There was not.

Twin cases of “Plaza Suite” occur when coronavirus cases are increasing again in the city and on Broadway.

The musical “A Strange Loop” canceled its first preview performance after a case of COVID-19 was discovered in-house and the non-Broadway musical “Suffs” derailed. Daniel Craig was also left out of his “Macbeth” resurrection.

This is breaking news. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
