Large crowds are expected at malls in South Florida following the Christmas holidays

Sunrise, Florida – According to Mastercard, sales are up this holiday season despite high inflation, and malls are expected to fill up this week, even though Christmas is over.

At Sunrise’s Sawgrass Mills Mall, crowds were out despite heavy traffic and cool temperatures.

Some try to return unwanted gifts, others take advantage of post-Christmas sales.

“We decided to come here and spend the day, and I think everyone else had the same idea,” said shopper Jessalyn Rafarovich.

The day after Christmas is considered the second busiest shopping day of the year, after Black Friday.

It’s also a great time to buy items you couldn’t find under the tree this year, as retailers are having massive sales.

“It was 70% off at Stuart Weitzman and up to 80% off at other stores,” says Rafalovich.
