Miami-Dade County, Florida – Flooding occurred Friday afternoon after a storm in the South Miami Heights area of ​​southern Miami-Dade County.

The weather system just went down, causing quite a bit of chaos during rush hour, leaving the parking lot in the area of ​​Quail Roost Drive and 115th Street in ankle-deep water.

“The whole parking lot was already flooded. It was pretty crazy, actually,” said Juan Carlos Gómez of Siete Maravilas Food Truck.

Water washed over potted plants and trash cans.

“At some point I thought, ‘Isn’t the car starting to float?

Water was seeping into the lawn in the neighborhood.

“I went out and said, ‘What happened here?’ Yeni Ramos said in Spanish.

Clogged or overflowing drain pipes. Carlos Limont was one of his neighbors who said it was the worst flood he had ever seen.

“We know that anything can happen depending on the weather and rain,” Limont said in Spanish.

Some feared the water would seep into their homes or damage their cars.

Niurka Carvallo, who was shopping when the parking lot was flooded, said all these incidents happened during rain for about an hour and 45 minutes.
