Aaron Judge’s Home Run: Tracking the Yankee Slugger Chasing and Breaking Roger Maris’ Single Season Record

New York (WABC) — All eyes are on Aaron Judge as the slugger tries to carve baseball’s immortality one home run at a time.

The New York Yankees outfielder edged into history after hitting 60 home runs against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday night, tying Babe Ruth for all-time homers since 1927.

Judges now breaks Roger Maris’ American League one-season home run record of 61 home runs within two home runs. Ironically, this record has stood since his 1961.

It’s no surprise that fans dial in on every pitch and every at-bat. A feat of this magnitude has been accomplished by only a handful of players, including the Yankees’ Maris and Ruth. Judges are now part of the very exclusive 60 Homers Club.

With a swing of the bat, the judges tied Babe Ruth’s 1927 home run record of 60. The blast was unleashed by Will Crow of the Pirates in the bottom of the ninth inning. The Judges are now reaching the plateau of 60 homers, with just two homers left to break Roger Maris’ 61.

Judges hit a home run off Luis Perdomo in the top of the seventh. In his 11th multiplayer HR match of the season, the judges will be alongside Sammy Sosa and Hank Greenberg. Judges are two homers behind Roger Maris’ 61 homers.

Judges hit an opposite home run into Brewers starter Jason Alexander’s right field two-deck in the top of the third. The home run was Judge’s first home run against the Brewers, and he hit three just behind Roger Maris’ 61.

Judges hit a 389-foot home run over the Green Monster off Red Sox reliever Garrett Whitlock. It was the 10th multi-home run game of the season, the second-most in American League history alongside Alex Rodriguez and Jimmy Foxx.

Judge hit a 383-foot home run just over the right field wall at Fenway Park by Red Sox starter Nick Pivetta. According to a survey by ESPN Stats and Information, Judge’s 56 home runs were the fourth-most in Yankees franchise history in his one season, Roger in 1961 with his 61 home runs in Maris, and Babe in 1927 with his 61 home runs. His 60 home runs on Ruth, second only to 59. 1921.

Judge hit a 374-foot home run into left field for Minnesota Twins pitcher Louis Berland Wednesday afternoon. He’s currently on pace for 65 home runs, assuming the judges play his remaining 26 games for the Yankees.

The judges broke a 2-2 tie with a two-run homer to left field for Minnesota Twins reliever Trevor Megill, proving it was a 5-2 winning margin.New York Yankees History , tying him with Alex Rodriguez for most home runs in a season by a right-handed hitter.

The game-leading judges needed just two pitches before taking Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Sean Armstrong 450 feet into left field. It established a new career high for Judges in home runs. He’s on pace with his 66 home runs, which is his third-most in MLB history alongside Sammy Sosa.

In the top of the ninth inning against the Rays, Judge hit a 392-foot dinger off Jason Adam’s changeup for his 52nd home run.

The judges hit a fastball into center field for Los Angeles Angels starter Mike Mayers. He is currently tied with Maris for most home runs through September in Yankees history.

Judge hit his 50th home run of the year with a 1-1 curveball to center field from Los Angeles Angels reliever Jose Kihada. He is the Yankees player to have hit his 50th home run before September since Roger Mullis in 1961. He is the third player on the Yankees to break his 50-hour record in multiple seasons, after Babe Ruth (4). & Mickey Mantle (2). He’s on pace for 63 home runs this season.
