Stocks in Asia hoard after Wall Street records in vaccine optimism

Beijing – Asian equity markets almost rose on Monday after Wall Street hit a record high with optimism that the spread of the coronavirus vaccine could bring global business back to normal.

Tokyo has risen and Seoul has moved back and forth between profits and losses. Markets in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Australia have been closed due to holidays.

On Thursday, Wall Street’s Benchmark S & P 500 Index rose 1.2% on the last trading day before the holiday weekend, closing above 4,000 points for the first time.

The Nikkei 225 in Tokyo rose 0.8% to 30,083.19, and the Kospi in Seoul rose less than 0.1% at 3,111.64 in the morning. Market benchmarks in Singapore, Bangkok and Jakarta have advanced.

Investors are encouraged by the spread of the coronavirus vaccine despite rising infections in the United States, Europe and elsewhere, and some governments are re-imposing travel and business restrictions. I am.
