Many gathered in North Naples on Saturday for a day of fun, wine and supporting good causes
The Naples Winter Wine Festival is your chance to bid on great creations and help improve the lives of children.
The glitz, glamour, food and of course lots of wine and tenders have raised millions of dollars for the children and educational foundations of Naples.
One of the most talked about items was a restored 1968 Ford Bronco that sold for $480,000.
The excitement and performance of the a cappella group Straight No Chaser made the event an unforgettable day.
But the auctions at the Naples Winter Wine Festival weren’t always this way.
It all started with a white tent! In fact, Naples’ Winter Wine Festival predates the Ritz-Carlton. In 2001, this event was just a handful of couples, this white tent, a dream to help underprivileged children in Collier County.
And even though more options were added during the event, the main goal hasn’t deviated.
“As adults, we are really protectors of our children. When you get something done, the impact on children is great,” said John Brown, who lives in Naples.
“Children get opportunities they otherwise wouldn’t have. We do a lot with a lot of charities, so it covers a lot. Hearing, Sight, education, everything is very important,” said Sherry Malek, who lives in Naples.
“As we always say, it’s all about the kids,” said volunteer Rochelle Jackson.
