Clay County, Florida – A suspected drug dealer in Orange Park, who had already been imprisoned for drug charges, is now facing additional charges.
Cedric Douglas, 39, has been accused of selling drugs from a room at the Stay Suites Hotel in Orange Park. A drug detective in Clay County says he was selling cocaine, stimulants, and marijuana.
In December last year, drug detectives arrested Douglas following a controlled purchase of drugs that were later tested positive for stimulants and cocaine, according to a heavily edited arrest report.
It was a small amount of drug, but News4Jax later discovered through court documents that this was one of three unresolved drug cases against Douglas in Clay County.
This wasn’t the first time News4Jax reported a crime related to illegal drug activity in a hotel.
“People who use or sell drugs usually hang out in these places,” said Ken Jefferson, a crime and safety expert at News4Jax.
Douglas Bond was set at $ 325,000.
