Texas Winter Storm: New Jersey Plumber, Apprentice Offers Helping Texas People In Need

Morristown, NJ (WABC)-A New Jersey plumber and his apprentice traveled 25 hours to stormy Texas to help those in need.

Andrew Mitchell is a plumber and his brother-in-law, Isiah Pinnock, is an apprentice.

They went on a road trip that took six states to Texas.

The duo have a family in Houston, but their journey isn’t just about getting off to help a person-in-law.

Mitchell and his wife, Kisha, bought $ 2,000 worth of plumbing supplies before leaving New Jersey.

“Some people’s homes have lost electricity and heat, and some have been out of water for days, almost a week or more,” Kisha said.

They packed the baby’s break and his uncle Isia was on a shotgun. Since arriving on Sunday, they have been going home-to-house in Texas to repair important plumbing.

“People can’t get water, so we drove here on Saturday, got here on Sunday, and we went straight to work,” Kisha said. “Andrew and Isaiah-Isaiah helped me a lot and Andrew taught him a lot. They are busy and working. We are really excited to be able to bless others. Thank you for being there. “

And they are already making a difference.

Nothing is said about when the family will come back, but they say there is a lot to do to get the family back online.
