Texas women with the longest nails in the world cut them almost 30 years later — featured at the Ripley’s Museum

Huh! I don’t know how Ayanna Williams held her long 24-foot (combined) Talon for nearly 30 years, but she did. But last weekend, the record-breaking duo finally broke up, according to Ripley’s official website.

Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Guinness World Records has joined forces to buy nails for a private amount. Ayanna’s “Baby” will be on display at Ripley’s Believe It or Not in Orlando, as she calls it! Museum.

“I’m always going to be a queen with or without nails. I make nails because nails don’t make me,” Ayanna said in a Guinness video.

She made a difficult decision because she wanted to “pace up” and “go to the next chapter in life,” Ripley’s reported. Ripley’s accompanied Ayanna to the Trinity Vista Dermatology Department in Fort Worth, Texas over the weekend. Dr. Reading led an impressive nail cutout. Guinness World Records posted an 8-minute video of the event on their YouTube page on Tuesday.

In the video, Ayanna shows that she has “complex feelings” about saying goodbye to her nails.

Originally from Houston, Texas, Ayanna broke the Guinness World Records in 2017 with the longest fingernail in the world. At that time, they measured 19 feet in length and reportedly took 20 hours and two or more nail polish bottles to obtain nail polish.

“Stretching your nails causes different kinds of reactions,” Ayanna said in a Guinness video. “I can’t believe it. The majority are good. People are excited and don’t know what to think. They don’t even know what to say, because that’s something you don’t see by default,” she said. Continued laughing.

The cutoff procedure was painless and seamless. Later, according to Ripley, Ayanna resumed activities that she hadn’t done in years, such as simply sending text messages, jumping into cars, and opening doors.

Roommate, you may remember Ayanna from the 2012 episode of TLC’s “My Strange Addiction” where she talked about her addiction to growing her toenail.
