Green Lawn, Queens (WABC)-New York Police Department police officer Anastasias Tsakos, who was killed on duty after being beaten on the Long Island highway on suspicion of drunk driving, said thousands of people would wake up on Monday. It is expected.

Viewing will take place from 2pm to 9pm at St. Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Shrine Church in 1 Shrine Place, Greenlawn.

The funeral will also be held at the church on Tuesday at 10 am.

GoFundMe for families has raised over $ 200,000, while another fundraising activity for police and military families, founded by Fund the Finest, has raised over $ 80,000. The tunnel to the Towers Foundation also announced that it would repay the mortgage on the family home.

A 14-year military veteran, Tsakos leaves his wife, a 6-year-old daughter and a 3-year-old son.

“He doesn’t deserve this,” brother Teddy Tsakos told Witness News. “He just bought a house. He was starting his life. He was doing well. Everything was shortened. That’s it.”

Tsakos was diverting his car from the freeway after a fatal accident before being attacked by 32-year-old Jessica Beauvais. Police said they admitted that they drank wine, vodka and tequila before squeezing the steering wheel.

She is currently facing 13 criminal accusations and made both a confession and an apology when she left the police station.

“I’m sorry,” she said in tears. “I apologize for hitting him and for his death.”

Those who knew the policeman were stunned by the news.

“I can’t believe it,” said his neighbor Ruth Mandela. “It’s shocking. I’ve been crying since I heard it.”

Tsacos and his family have just moved to the neighborhood of East Northport and immediately impressed their neighbors. ..

“Family, the most friendly and hard-working person you’ll want to meet,” said neighbor Moira Brech.
