Three American tourists became ill and died at the Sandals Resort Hotel in the Bahamas after another was airlifted to a hospital

Three American tourists died at a resort in the Bahamas after becoming ill, Atlantic island officials confirmed, and the other was airlifted to a hospital for treatment.

Acting Prime Minister Chester Cooper said in a statement Friday that police were investigating and the cause of death was unknown, but the misconduct was “not suspected.”

Their identities were not initially disclosed.

Health Minister Dr. Michael Durville told witness News Bahama on Saturday that some of the hotel guests went to the clinic with nausea and vomiting on Thursday and were treated and left. The three were later found dead. A quarter was taken to a hospital in New Providence.

He said environmental health scientists, doctors, and others are investigating to make sure there are no public health hazards.

“We feel that we are looking at isolated cases associated with a particular area,” he says, and researchers say toxicology and blood tests to help identify the cause of the disease. He added that he was doing.

Cooper was acting on behalf of Prime Minister Philip E. Davis, who was abroad.

Latrae L. Rahming, head of communications at the Prime Minister’s Office, tweeted that the death occurred at Sandals Emerald Bay in Exuma.

In a statement to People magazine, a sandal representative confirmed the dead and said the company “is actively working to support both the investigation and the guest’s family as much as possible.”

There was no immediate further response to the Associated Press inquiry to the hotel company on Saturday.
