The garage opened a few years ago, but just recently moved to a permanent space on 35th Avenue. In the new garage, the team behind Gearhead Workspace is building a community of urban car enthusiasts.
“We can support anything from oil changes to engine changes,” said Molly Heyen, who owns the space with her husband Tim.
Their positions (boss lady and chief enthusiast, respectively) reflect their approach to business.
From mechanics to first-time car owners, Gearhead Workspace is an auto shop for everyone. On request, we provide classes and individual coaching for all topics.
Josh Heyse (aka Wheelman) says that learning to work in your car can help you build a meaningful and positive relationship with your car.
“The gearhead-like space I want will help bring back car enthusiasts and allow them to work in their cars,” Hayes said.
Membership options include a $ 300 / year level for the “Regular Wrench” and a $ 3,000 / year level for joining the “Premium Pit Crew” (for more expensive options, all tools and bays are annually available. It’s almost free). It also gives you access to space and tools for a slightly higher hourly rate. For more information, please visit the Gearhead Workspace.com website.
