Two restaurants, five-story apartment, four-warning upper east side fire fighting firefighter ceiling collapses

The ceilings of several firefighters who fired four alarms on the Upper East Side collapsed.

A fire broke out in the First Avenue building near 95th Avenue at around 5:15 am on Tuesday.

The flames began at the Dragon One restaurant, spread to the next restaurant, and passed through the five-story apartment above.

The ceiling on the first floor collapsed. No firefighter was injured in the collapse.

Firefighters stayed at the scene of fighting stubborn fire after more than an hour.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Due to firefighting activities, traffic is disrupted in this area.
