Two teens die after being found in a car driving in East Naples Park

East Naples

Two teens died Wednesday night after being found in a car in a park in Collier County. Investigators believe that death was a coincidence.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, the Park Ranger found the pair in a running vehicle parked at Sugden Regional Park around 9 pm.

“Autopsy to determine the cause of death is pending, but preliminary observations by agents on site suggest that the death may be due to accidental carbon monoxide poisoning associated with the vehicle’s modified exhaust system. It shows that there is, “CCSO said.

When the agent arrived at the scene and got into the car, he smelled the exhaust gas. Medical personnel declared an 18-year-old man dead on the scene, and a 17-year-old woman was taken to NCH Downtown Baker, where she was declared dead after a while.

According to investigators, inspection of the vehicle revealed that the exhaust system had changed.

This is a developing story.
