Less than a week after dragging Meek Mill because social media people regarded the late Kobe Bryant as insensitive lyrics, the rapper was called again by Kobe’s wife Vanessa Bryant. It is in the limelight.
Just as the fever seemed to diminish, Vanessa took up the Instagram story and called Meek in his song “Kobe,” which appeared last week featuring Lil Baby.
In the song, Meek says about Kobe’s death, “and if I’m not enough, going out with a chopper would be another Kobe.” The next voice I hear after a while is that Lil Baby says, “I want a son, so I want to name it Kobe.” Fans didn’t seem to have a problem with Baby’s lines, but they were very vocal about what they felt was downplaying Meek’s contribution to poetry.
See below to get the gist of what people are saying:
Well, Vanessa wasn’t a big fan either, and she made it very clear when she sent a message to Meek Mill in her IG story.
She started by sharing his lyrics, then digging into him and tagging him as well.
“@Meekmill, I think this line is very insensitive and rude. Period,” Vanessa’s message began. “I’m not familiar with your music, but I believe you can do better than this. If you’re a fan, you’re fine. There’s a better way to show praise to my husband. This lacks respect and tact.
Meek isn’t officially compatible with Vanessa, but fans were confused when Meek tweeted shortly after Vanessa read it.
Some fans called Meek about the timing of the tweet and believed that they hadn’t seen Vanessa’s message yet. I’m not sure if he did, but we’ll keep posting you.
