The 2021 Brevard County High School football power team split on Friday, with Cocoa and Rockledge winning the big game.
Christians from Melbourne, Merritt Island, Heritage and Merritt Island also won big wins on the week 8 schedule.

Cocoa 39, VIERA 14
The home team took over after the Hawks took the lead early.
Cocoa scored four times on the ground, including two runs by OJ Ross. They went 10 and 13 yards before and after half-time. Davin Wydner threw a touchdown pass to Donte Cook 9 yards and Eumari Dixon (21 yards).
Down only 19-7 during the break, the VIERA attempted an onside kick and recovered, but the attack went nowhere against the rugged cocoa defense. This season was the first victory for the Tigers with more than 4 points.
The Hawks will host District 7-7A’s opponent St. Cloud on Thursday, and the Tigers will host Spruce Creek on Friday.
Rockedge 34, Satellite 10
The Raiders find that among the leaders, only Merritt Island is on the standings for District 8-5A, which remains to play.
Jamarion Stephen set the pace early on a 65-yard run from Scrimmage, but Rockledge went to the locker room in huff time with a lead of only 14-3. Jalen Hayward started the game at the beginning of the fourth quarter with a 70-yard pass-cut return and a higher score. It was the second interception of his game.
Eddie Combs recorded a satellite touchdown with a 90-yard kick-off return.
The Raiders will host the Mustang in Week 9, and Scope will visit Palm Bay.

Merritt Island 38, Bayside 0
Mustang set up a District 8-5A showdown with Rockledge with a home win.
The two teams exchanged punts until the fourth minute of the second period, with Brady Denaberg kicking a 43-yard field goal and throwing a touchdown pass to Bridger Coby and Dallas Donahue.
Merritt Island landed on the ground in the second half and hurriedly added scores from Denaberg, Elijah Edwards and Dominique Shield.
Mustang then visits Rockledge, and Bears becomes the home facing Titusville.
Melbourne 49, Harmony 7
Bulldog has won 5 straight wins.
Michael Galvin recorded four rush touchdowns in Melbourne at McIntyre Stadium. The team has started Season 0-2.
Melbourne will play an astronaut at home in the ninth week.
Heritage 38, gateway 7
The big second quarter allowed the Panthers to withdraw in Palm Bay.
Heritage has not allowed opponents to score more than once in a match since September 17th. Meanwhile, the Panthers’ lowest October output was 33 against Palm Bay on Tuesday.
In the match on Friday, LJ Turner scored twice on the ground and made 11 rush touchdowns during the season.
Heritage will then host Lake Wales. This is the first of two District 7-6A opponents.
Palm Bay 48, Titusville 0
Pirates returned to the winner side after losing four games in a row. Kyrique Harris ignited the team with a fumbled recovery touchdown minutes after the match began.
Octavian Osby scored three times, including two on the ground, and Zachary Emery-Foster threw two touchdown passes, including one of the 30 yards to Alex Petite.
Atrayveon Carree has added a 35 yard punt return to his score.
Pirates will host the satellite on Friday, and Terrier will visit the bayside.
Holy Trinity 24, Space Coast 18
The Tigers built a 15-point lead before the Viper turned it on.
Ty Englehart threw three touchdown passes and Holy Trinity hung by moving visitors away from the scoreboard during the final 6:47.
The Viper will visit Windermere Prep in the ninth week, and the Tigers will continue to be Halifax’s hometown.
Hawthorne 39, Astronaut 0
Brian Jones scored 50 and 3 yard runs for 6-0 visitors, and astronauts fell to 1-5.
War Eagles will then visit Melbourne.
Mount Dora Christian 55, Cocoa Beach 17
Minuteman fell to 1-5 due to road loss.
The next match at Cocoa Beach is Friday’s Santa Fecatholic.
MIC 45, Masters Academy 0
At Vero Beach, Cougar won the Atlantic Division Championship at the Sunshine State Athletic Conference.
Morgan Bab recorded three hasty touchdowns in the game.
Merritt Island Christians will play at Lake Mary Prep on Friday.
