Weekend rain brings a lot of necessary relief to southwestern Florida

Fort myers

Happy Friday! Expect a toast afternoon as highs soar in the mid-1980s in southwestern Florida before it rains on the weekends.

The wind turns into a breeze this afternoon, and the wave height and fire risk index rise again.

The high to very high fire risk index extends to the DeSoto, Charlotte, Collier, and Lee counties.

Thankfully, it rains locally on Sunday, so many necessary remedies are on the way! If possible, carry out those outdoor plans on Saturday.

Rain and storms begin on Sunday morning and continue to fall all day long.

A second shower will occur as the front passes south on Monday.

Most areas of southwestern Florida are expected to rain 0.50 to 1.00 inches from now until Wednesday. Higher totals are possible, mainly in the north of the Caloosahatchee River.
