50 migrants deported to Cuba after multiple entry bans off Florida

Miami – The US Coast Guard deported dozens of migrants to Cuba on Sunday.

Officials said five bans were imposed off Florida last week, bringing a total of 50 people back to the island nation.

One arrived on Monday, two on Wednesday, one on Thursday and one on Friday.

Since October 1 of last year, Coast Guard crews have intercepted 5,456 Cubans. This is the most in a single fiscal year since 2016 when he had 5,396 arrests.

That number is much higher than what we have seen in recent years.

In fiscal year 2021, 838 Cuban immigrants were detained by the Coast Guard. In 2020, that number was just 49, but in 2019 it totaled 313.
