Arrests are imminent in the unsolved murder of Jared Bridegan

jacksonville beach, florida – Three law enforcement sources told News4JAX Monday night that major progress was being made in the investigation into the 2022 murder of Jared Bridegan, the father of four children shot dead on Jacksonville Beach. It was confirmed.

Each of these sources confirmed that arrests related to the incident have been made and will be announced on Wednesday.

News4JAX has reached out to the state attorney’s office and the Jacksonville Beach Police Department for comment. Supervisors at both firms said they could not comment on the matter.

Despite public scrutiny, Gardner Fernandez has maintained her innocence.

Hank Coxe, a prominent Jacksonville attorney representing Gardner-Fernandez, told I-TEAM Monday night that he had no further information about the developments in the case beyond what has been reported.

Detectives said Bridegan was pulled over by a tire on the road while driving on a dark road between the Sanctuary District and J. Turner Butler Boulevard. Detectives believe the tires were likely planted in the road.

“This was a very heinous crime,” Bridegan’s brother Adam previously told News4JAX. “I mean, how many times he’s been shot just to make sure he’s dead, that he can’t recover, and all of us in the family are just devastated.”
