Jaguars’ ‘NFL Fan of the Year’ doesn’t mind being ‘drafted’ to team’s service

jacksonville, florida ・From TIAA bank field dedicated key acquisition in January Jaguar ‘superfan’ Tyler Darby has done just about everything, from player to coach to interaction with owner Shad Khan.

There’s some really cool stuff happening in the Derby in this year’s NFL Draft.

“On the first pick in the first round, when[NFL Commissioner Roger]Goodell announced the draft pick, I stood on the stage[in Kansas City]and held up my Jaguars jersey to him and the new draft pick. I’ll give it to you,” Darby said. “Round one if he’s attending there. So that would be pretty cool.”

Pretty cool to say the least. Darby told News4JAX that he flew out from his home near Chicago late Wednesday night and, like all his Jags fans, is excited to see who will be selected. He already has some ideas.

“If I had to pick, maybe I could help the defensive backs and the secondary a little bit. You can never go wrong with defending (QB Trevor) Lawrence on the offensive lineman,” Darby said. People like is the foundation, and for me, I can’t draft enough good linemen, so those are my top two positions.”

Like all Jags fans, Derby admits that he’s had quite a few disappointing years. Still, he feels this last season has really laid the groundwork for the winning team to move forward, especially thanks to Lawrence.

“I could have told someone that if we were going to make a quarterback in the lab, we’d make Trevor Lawrence,” Darby said. , he ticks all the boxes you want.

Jaguars fans will attend the Jaguars DUUUVAL draft party at Dailies Place, but Darby is thrilled to be there for the real deal. Regardless, he brings the energy of a Jaguar ‘superfan’.

“For very selfish reasons, I look forward to it for what I have to do,” Darby said. , watch me there, I will definitely shout DUUUVAL as loud as possible on stage.”

Darby also told News4JAX on Saturday that he plans to announce one of the Jags’ late-round draft picks in the draft stage sometime between rounds 4-7.

The NFL Draft starts at 8:00 p.m. Thursday.
