Motorcycle driver dies after crashing into Lane Avenue pole

jacksonville, florida – A man died in a motorcycle crash on Lane Avenue on Sunday, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Department.

The JSO said the man was driving south around 3pm when he lost control and veered off the road and hit a sign, a telephone pole and a small fence.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department took the man to hospital, where he died.

The southbound lane on Lane Avenue will also be closed for an additional hour, according to the JSO.

It was the 15th fatality involving a motorcycle and the 75th fatality in Duval County.
