Suffolk County Shoreham (WABC) — A New York legislator says he had to make an emergency landing while flying his plane.
Queens captain Clyde Bunnell tweeted Friday night that he had suffered an engine failure during his flight and had to land at a beach in Shoreham, Suffolk County.
Vannel said it happened around 2:15pm and another passenger was on board.
He said he was grateful that he was able to use the training to land the plane in the nearest safe place and leave without injury.
The FAA is investigating the landing.
