jacksonville, florida – A single-engine Cessna 172 suffered a mechanical failure and had to make an emergency landing at Pecan Road Park, right next to the JIA, according to Jacksonville International Airport officials.
There were three people on board the plane, two students and one flight instructor.
The plane landed safely and no passengers were injured.
Part of Pecan Park Road North will be closed for a few hours.
A crew from St. Augustine comes to remove the plane.
According to Flightaware.com, the plane took off from Atlanta Speedway Airport at 6:06 a.m. and landed in Jacksonville at 8:32 a.m.
