ST. Augustine, Florida – The former home of the St. Augustine Record newspaper on the corner of a prominent intersection in St. John’s County will be taken over by a new resident.
St. Augustine College of Health Sciences will begin construction on a new 120,000-square-foot campus in the former St. Augustine Records building located at the corner of State Routes 207 and 312.
the building is Sold for $7.5 million in 2020.according to Jacksonville daily recordthe university sold the old St. Augustine Records On April 24, the building was sold to Aventura real estate investment firm ESJ Capital Partners for $8 million. ESJ Capital Partners will oversee the construction of the new campus and lease it to the school.
Stevens Construction hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the project on Monday.
St. Augustine University and ESJ Capital Partners will renovate the existing 40,000-square-foot building and add a new 80,000-square-foot extension to the building.
Built specifically for health sciences education, the school features an innovative clinical practice center with 14 beds, six assessment rooms, two complex hospital room simulation rooms, an observation room, a daily living activity lab, and an autopsy. said to include both chambers and anatomy dissection chambers. more.
The school said the new campus will accommodate the university’s growth and provide more immersive learning opportunities for students.
