Travel Problems Continue at Southwest Florida International Airport
After the troubles recorded in October 2021 due to COVID-19, Southwest Florida International Airport continues to experience travel problems around winter holidays.
Flight delays caused by weather conditions resulted in huge delays and many passengers had to deal with flight delays and cancellations and spending the night on the airport floor. Although the company released a statement saying that delays were triggered by weather conditions combined with ‘unexpected air traffic control issues in the same region’ some argue that SWA management’s poor planning and scheduling more flights than it can handle is the main reason. Amidst all of it, staffing shortages worsened flight disruptions over the last year.
As airlines are being globally affected by Covid-19 and deal with scrapping flights and crew members, Wizz Air introduces new affordable flights in the other part of the world. Sarajevo International Airport is also known for reduced visibility due to fog. This, however, did not disrupt Wizz Air’s plan to expand their routes in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2021. The Hungarian airline company has also launched 7 new routes from the Sarajevo International Airport to Frankfurt, Cologne, Hamburg (Germany), Venice (Italy), Billund (Denmark), Malmo (Sweden), Oslo (Norway) in 2022 and increased flights to Copenhagen, Dortmund, Gothenburg Landvetter, Stockholm Skavsta, and Memmingen/Munich West routes. With 18 routes to 10 countries from Sarajevo with Wizz Air it has never been easier to explore this unique gem of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially with Sarajevo Free Walking Tours.
