About Us

Florida News Times is an independent digital publication covering the news, business and everyday life of the Sunshine State. We started with a simple observation: Florida is one of the fastest-changing places in the country, and a lot of what actually affects people here — insurance rates, school board decisions, housing costs, storm preparedness — gets lost between national headlines and hyperlocal noise.

What we cover

Our reporting is organised around the subjects that matter to Florida residents: statewide news and politics, business and real estate, health, education, sports, and the lifestyle and travel stories that come with living somewhere people spend their holidays. We cover the major metros — Miami, Orlando, Tampa Bay, Jacksonville — as well as the Gulf Coast, the Panhandle and the Keys.

How we work

Every article on Florida News Times is written or edited by a member of our team. We attribute facts to named sources, link to primary documents where they exist, and update stories when new information arrives. When a piece is paid for or supplied by a commercial partner, it carries a clear Sponsored label — you can read more in our Editorial Policy.
