DeSantis set ‘open carry’ goal with Florida legislature ahead of session
Governor Ron DeSantis Appears to have given the Florida legislature the go-ahead for approval open carry measure when it meets next week for the start of the 2023 Legislative Session; and gun rights groups He is pressing lawmakers to act.

But the bill has come under fire from both sides of the gun control debate, with supporters saying it’s dangerous and Second Amendment supporters saying it’s not good enough.
At a committee hearing last month, the GOA argued that the open carry restriction violated its “constitutionally God-given right to self-defense.”

The 2023 session of the Florida Legislature begins on Tuesday, March 7.
