Families are speaking out after a loved one died in a stray bullet. The shooting occurred Tuesday in his No. 16 southwest area of Golden Gate.
It’s been an emotional few days for the family of 20-year-old Frankie Deauville.
This family is upset, saying the brother was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
“Frankie was such a good kid. At heart he was a great, great kid. He meant the best and wanted the best for everyone.
His mother mourns the death of her son. Deauville was shot dead Tuesday in the Golden Gate apartment complex.
“He opened the door at the wrong time and was shot. Then my mother went to comfort him in his final moments, but he sadly passed away,” said Frankie Deauville’s brother. Devonte Deauville said.
The meaningless filming is currently under investigation, but all that remains in this family are memories.
“Frankie gave me the best hug ever, like my little brother. He did even when I started to feel pain. The first thing I did was give myself a hug.” That was it,” said Cesar.
Frankie’s family said they were taking things one day at a time.
“It’s hard. For all of us, I don’t know how we’re doing, but we’re just doing it,” Devonte said.
A family message to those in charge. “You ripped an amazing person out of us. It hurts. We’re in pain right now. Feel a little bit of our pain and reflect on what you’ve done,” Devonte said. .
Devonte said they are relying on their faith, family and friends, hoping the shooters’ consciences will catch up with them.
“Maybe I’ll beg for forgiveness. I can forgive if I’m ready to do so, but until then I’ll take it easy and do my best to heal,” Devonte said.
The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is working to track down the shooter. The suspect was driving a black Kia Soul.
Crime Stoppers offers rewards for any information leading to an arrest.
