Hurricane Nicole Pursuit

The Japan Meteorological Agency is currently tracking Hurricane Nicol in the southwestern Atlantic.

Nicole will be landing on the east coast of Florida between midnight and Thursday morning.

The main impact is being felt on the east coast of Florida, but gusty winds and rain conditions are expected in southwest Florida. Total precipitation expected will range from 1 to 3 inches by the end of Friday. Totals may be higher in some locations.

Rainy and windy conditions will typically continue through Friday. The strongest impact on southwestern Florida will be felt Wednesday morning. This won’t be a big hurricane like Ian’s.

Hurricane warnings are in effect for many counties along the state’s east coast. Tropical Storm Warnings are active in all WINK viewing areas except Collier County.

The next name on the 2022 Atlantic Storm naming list is Owen. There is only one other region of turbulent weather in the Atlantic at this time, and it is not a threat to the United States.
