New York City (WABC) — FAO Schwarz, an iconic New York City toy manufacturer, celebrates its 160th anniversary.
The store has planned a festive day at its Rockefeller Plaza flagship store on Saturday, with performers of all kinds and sweet treats for attendees.
A wonderland for kids and parents alike, this giant toy store has weathered many economic storms since the first store opened on East 14th Street in New York City in 1880.
Its Rockefeller Center store was closed for months during the coronavirus pandemic, but reopened in August 2020.
Prior to that, the Fifth Avenue location, where he lived for 29 years, closed in 2015 due to rising rents before reopening at its current location in 2018.
