Brunswick, Georgia – Georgia residents – in the Hickory Bluff and Sanctuary Cove areas – were asked to evacuate and take shelter in place after an industrial fire at the Simrise factory in Glynn County. Glynn County Commission.
“Code Red has been issued to the Hickory Bluff area of northeastern Camden County and the area east of Interstate 95 Exit 26,” law enforcement officials said. “People are being forced to evacuate because of the smoke and smoke from chemical fires.”
School buses were also avoiding the area, a school board official confirmed.
If you don’t have a place to go, you can go to the Kingsland Recreation Center behind Camden County High School, according to a Camden County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson.
Jacksonville hazmat response personnel were spotted at the scene, assisting the Georiga fire brigade.
