Irene Cara, the Oscar-winning singer for the title tracks of “Fame” and “Flashdance,” has died at the age of 63, her publicist announced late Friday.

Carla died of unknown causes at her home in Florida.

Her publicist confirmed her death to Eyewitness News.

“It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Eileen Cara on behalf of her family,” publicist Judith A. Moose wrote.

Carla was trained in music, dance and acting as a child and made stage and television appearances in the 1970s, including appearances on PBS and Johnny Carson’s “The Tonight Show.”

However, she rose to fame when she appeared in the 1980 musical Fame. Although she was initially cast as a dancer, she later played the role of Coco Hernandez, which she wrote for her, and sang the title track.

She was nominated for two Grammy Awards following “Fame” for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Artist.

Then in 1984, he won a Grammy and an Academy Award for the title track of the film Flashdance, starring Jennifer Beals as an aspiring dancer.

She continued her dual career of acting and music, appearing in movies like ‘DC Cab’ and ‘City Heat’ as well as various TV shows. She also performed in live theater and musicals.
