Governor DeSantis Holds Press Conference in Destin, Signs Bill with Surgeon General

Gov. Ron DeSantis said Thursday morning at a news conference and bill signing in Destin.

Standing behind a podium holding a placard reading “Prescribe Freedom,” the governor toured the state shortly after the recently closed legislature to promote the recent signing of legislation.

Wednesday he signed Jacksonville Immigration Bill It was sponsored by Rep. Kiyan Michael of Republican Jacksonville.

Among the bills DeSantis has yet to sign are several health-related bills, including a bill sponsored by Panama City Republican Rep. From requiring people to get tested for the new coronavirus and wear masks to enter their facility.

Companies and agencies will also be prohibited from firing or refusing to hire employees for their “post-infection recovery status or failure to undergo a COVID-19 test,” with a penalty of up to $5,000 per violation. You may be fined.

Other health care bills are still awaiting the governor’s signature.
