Massive fire at Springfield warehouse takes JFRD two hours to control

jacksonville, florida – A second fire on Jacksonville’s East Side was finally brought under control Saturday night after two hours of firefighting by the Jacksonville Fire and Requisitions Department.

JFRD was called to Surface Prep Supply, a sand and stone warehouse next to the railroad tracks on East 8th Street in the Springfield area.

Heavy smoke filled the air as the crew worked to put out the fire.

The extent of damage to the building is unknown at this time, and the cause of the fire is unknown.

I was not injured. The state fire department is investigating.
