Miami-Dade court clerk Harvey Rubin dies at 85
Miami-Dade County, Florida – A longtime Miami-Dade County civil servant has died.
Miami-Dade Court Clerk Harvey Rubin died Saturday, the county confirmed over the weekend.
he was 85 years old.
Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said in a statement, “Our community is heartbroken to learn of Harvey Rubin’s sudden passing.” A true leader, a true civil servant, and the embodiment of government at its best, Harvey was a man like no other: compassionate, visionary, and wise.
“I am also fortunate to know Harvey as a dear friend. He has taught me so much about our environment, good government, and living a life rooted in service. The light has gone out in our community and beyond.On behalf of Miami-Dade County, Rob and I extend our deepest condolences to his family and all of the Court Clerks.”
Rubin was the longest elected official in Miami-Dade County. He completed seven consecutive terms in the role.
“Harvey Ruvin’s leadership helped create a welcoming, loving, progressive and positive Miami-Dade County. He will be missed.”
