The Jacksonville Beach City Council voted 6 to 1 to advance the developer’s rezoning request to add affordable multifamily housing to the property.
Trevato Development Group is the developer behind the project, which will build a 427-unit apartment community with approximately 5,000 square feet of retail and office space.
The development group has reached an agreement with city leaders to make 7% of the apartments (about 30 units) available for affordable housing. Trevato’s first offer, initially for just his 5% of the unit, was rejected.

The council should hold a final vote on the project scheduled for November 7th. If approved, the project will take approximately three years to complete.
