Rotary Club of Lehigh Acres Serves Hot Christmas Meal

The goal of the annual meal distribution provided by the Rotary Club of Lehigh Acres is that no one goes through Christmas without a hot meal.

The Rotary Club of Lehigh Acres has been serving Christmas dinners to people in southwest Florida for the past 16 years.

Ed is dedicated to service and has volunteered annually for 16 years.

“It’s been fun year after year. The same people come year after year,” said Ed.

The people who come every year look forward not only to the hot meals, but also to the time they spend together.

“Christmas mass was on Sunday…I went there and then came here. So I didn’t have to make two trips, you know…because it’s too cold.” said Ed.

Visitors enjoyed traditional dishes funded by the Rotary club, including ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, and green beans.

“This is a big undertaking that is planned all year round. This year we discussed what changes we needed to make for next year. We’ll make sure we have supplies and let everyone know,” Ed said.
