Rutgers strike: Tentative agreement reached between Rutgers and unions
New Brunswick, NJ (WABC) — The first-ever faculty strike at Rutgers University has officially ended after five long days of negotiations.
Schools and teachers’ unions, which have been on strike since Monday, have reached a tentative agreement consisting of new contracts to provide better wages and job security for both full-time and part-time teachers.
Governor Phil Murphy made the announcement early Saturday.
Members still have to approve a final contract and talks will continue this week.
All Rutgers classes will resume on Monday, according to Gov. Murphy’s office.
