jacksonville, florida – A suspected burglar was captured on cameras outside homes in various parts of Jacksonville.
One attempted to enter two townhomes in the downtown Cathedral District. Another, east near the intersection of San Clark Road and San Aldo Road, where he was spotted twice outside a home in the Goodbys Creek area.
The homeowner, who provided the surveillance images to News4JAX, requested anonymity but said the man was seen lurking near the house at night and during the day while the homeowner was away. Police called him twice, but the man was gone by the time officers arrived.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Department Crime Map, within the past four weeks, one reported car theft and two major thefts were reported within half a mile of where the man was recorded.

One neighbor we spoke to said it was very worrying.
“That try and maybe the goal was to get in, but that try makes me very nervous,” she said.
Residents are asked to keep their doors locked and to report anything suspicious. According to JSO’s crime map, 62 crimes have been reported in the last four weeks within a half-mile radius of the Cathedral Quarter. These crimes included theft, robbery and assault.
These images are an example of why the JSO says everyone should be vigilant when it comes to locking doors and calling the police when they see something suspicious.
