Putnam County, Florida – Ronald Cummings, father of 5-year-old Hayley Cummings of Putnam County, who disappeared in 2009, is scheduled to appear in court Monday morning. After he was arrested on Christmas Day.

Cummings went to jail a few months ago. He pleaded guilty to drug trafficking in 2010 and served more than a decade in prison. He was released from prison in mid-October.

Cummings was at work that night, so he wasn’t a suspect in his five-year-old daughter’s disappearance. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office considers Harry’s disappearance an unsolved murder.

Hayley disappeared from her home in Satsuma on February 9, 2009. Babysitter Misty Crosslin was the last person to see Hailey, according to the Sheriff’s Office. While Ronald Cummings was at work that night, others were at home the night the five-year-old girl went missing — Hank Crosslin, Misty Crosslin’s cousin, Joe Overstreet, and possibly others. From the beginning, investigators said they were not getting consistent statements from Misty Crosslin or others.

On the 10th anniversary of Hayley Cummings’ disappearance, Putnam County investigators have confirmed that she died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs and her body was buried in a river.
