Wanted man from Miami found with fentanyl, meth, cocaine during Keys traffic stop

MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A traffic stop for tag violations turned into quite the find for deputies in Monroe County.

According to Monroe County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Adam Linhardt, a Miami man was arrested Saturday after fentanyl, meth and cocaine were found in a vehicle he was driving following a traffic stop on U.S. 1.

Authorities said Jeremy Patrick Anderson, 31, is facing multiple charges that include, possession of fentanyl, possession of cocaine, possession of amphetamines, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and possessing a controlled substance while operating a motor vehicle.

Linhardt said Anderson was stopped around 4:10 a.m. near Mile Marker 49 while heading northbound on U.S. 1 in a Toyota Camry for tag violations.

Deputies said an open beer container was in plain view and the smell of marijuana was coming from Anderson’s vehicle after pulling him over.

After conducting a vehicle search, deputies found two rocks containing methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl were found along with baggies laced with cocaine, methamphetamine, and glass pipes, according to Linhardt.

Anderson also had two out-of-county warrants for theft. He was taken to jail and is being held without bond.
