Baldwin, Florida – The townwide water cutoff in Baldwin will begin at 1pm Tuesday and will continue until further notice to repair a water main break at the northwest intersection of Oliver and Main Streets.
The power outage will affect all residents and businesses in the town, officials confirmed.
“This will require major temporary repairs,” explained Assistant City Clerk Misty Sloane.
Once the water supply is restored, all Baldwin residents will be issued a three-day precautionary warning to boil, officials said.
They advise residents to boil all water used for drinking and cooking for at least one minute or use bottled water until the boiling water notice is lifted.
Boiling water prevention notices are in effect until bacteriological investigations show that the water is safe to drink.
This process usually takes 3-4 business days.
Officials said they would notify residents if they needed to continue boiling water beyond the fourth day.
